Care Provider Dashboard

Pivoting to a healthcare marketplace

In a nutshell

Problem

Clinic staff had no choice but to use multiple dashboards for every service

Existing dashboards were heavily customized to support the 2 services being offered at that time, limiting the ability to scale rapidly. Having to create a new dashboard every time there’s a new service was also not sustainable.

Solution

I designed the dashboard that supports numerous healthcare services

Staff now use the dashboard to set up new services, review orders, and manage appointments and records when patients use our app.

Research

Visiting clinics to gather feedback

We were working on assumptions and had to validate them. I regularly interviewed healthcare practitioners about their everyday experiences and problems using the old dashboards.

Differential diagnoses
Healthcare professionals do use a lot of unreliable digital tools for different processes and documentation takes up a lot of time.

Information architecture

Starting over based on insights

From the interviews, I understood the importance of having a reliable platform that can do most of what the staff need. The existing dashboard could not support new services and so the team created a new one and made sure it can be used for any medical service.

Thinking in first principles
We built the dashboard similar to an e-commerce platform but with added modules to fulfill healthcare services.

Visual design

Creating a design system

With this new platform and a rebrand, I contributed to building a design system that aligns with the new visual identity. The team continually uses and improves this for our mobile app and web platforms as we scale our design efforts.

Each page is made up of building blocks to form the user interface.

Solution

One dashboard to rule them all

We released a dashboard to be used by clinic staff to support the services being offered in our app.

These are some of the different screens for the operations side of the dashboard. Each one is interrelated so we had to make sure each part of the system fits with the rest.

Outcome

From 1 partner to 10+

Our business development team continues to onboard new partners to the platform so that they can offer their services to our customers.

From 2 products to 50+

Each new partner brings more medical services that our customers can avail.

More customers

We have grown our user base in Singapore and we’re continuing to expand in Vietnam, Hong Kong and the rest of Southeast Asia.

Fewer platforms to maintain

With limited resources, engineering could now focus on one platform instead of having to juggle between numerous dashboards.
